enyorança (p: [ə ɲu 'ran sə]) - catalan: n. a state of longing

Chronicling the ex-expat life and the desire for something greater. Experiences, thoughts, and ideas formed because of a former lifestyle that's disappeared. Global culture, domestic lifestyle. Consolidated into an outlet that may or may not be interesting to anyone else. Also a kind of travel blog because sometimes I go places. All photography is mine unless credited otherwise.

Oh, I have a kitten now too.

I think it also merits posting that in September I adopted a kitten.  One of my co-workers texted me while I was on the field (i.e. knocking on doors) that she needed a home for a kitten, and proceeded to send me a picture of the little guy.  Being an incontrovertible and unashamed cat person, and when faced with a picture of a precious little kitten, I said I could take him temporarily.  My family already has a cat, so it was no trouble getting cat litter or food for him.  I took him home that night, and by the following evening, my parents had sufficiently fallen in love with him to the point that there was no getting rid of him.

I named him Captain Xavi, he's about five months old now (I adopted him at 4 1/2 weeks) and he really is the cutest little guy.  Photographic proof:

I'm going to be taking him to Jacksonville with me as soon as he's old enough to be neutered (I don't want him spraying the new apartment).  He'll be rooming with my co-worker's four-month-old puppy, who's also the product of an adoption made because of going door-to-door.

Door-to-door changes lives, guys!
